SI Yankee Notebook: Medchill Eyeing Wednesday Return

This past Monday current Staten Island Yankees left fielder Neil Medchill travelled up to Yankee Stadium.  He did not go up there to see the new home of the Bronx Bombers but to visit with a hand specialist about his injured wrist that kept him out of games for the last week of the regular season.

The league’s top homerun hitter was given a shot of cortisone and is expecting make his return on Wednesday, September 9 when the Baby Bombers make their return to the Richmond County Bank Ballpark for game two against the Lowell Spinners.

Baby Bombers Set Attendance Record

The Staten Island Yankees finished up the 2009 season playing in front of a total of 206,635 fans in 35 openings (3 doubleheaders).  That is good for an average of 5,903 fans a game a new Staten Island Yankees record in both total attendance and average attendance.  This was thanks to a total of 26 record sell outs this season.
