SI Yankees Notebook: Baby Bombers Set New Attendance Record

With their 22nd sold out crowd the Staten Island Yankees set a new attendance record.  Last season the Baby Bombers attracted 189,876 fans in 36 openings for an average of 5,274 fans a game.

This season the Yankees have had only 32 openings so far and have played in front of 191,346 fans for an average of 5,980 fans a game.  With another sell out expected tomorrow night the Staten Island Yankees are expecting to pass the 200,000 fans mark for the first time in team history.

 Resting Up

Neil Medchill and Jimmy Paredes are being rested for the playoffs while nursing some minor injuries.  Medchill had some soreness in his wrist that kept him out of the last few games while Paredes is rumored to have tweaked his leg but should be okay for the playoffs next week.

 Cotham to Play Gotham

Tomorrow night Caleb Cotham will make his Richmond County Bank Ballpark debut in front of what is expected to be another sold out crowd.  Cotham looks to extend the winning streak to 14 games against the Vermont Lake Monsters.

Nardi in the House

Yankees pitching coordinator Nardi Contreras was in attendance and will be with the Baby Bombers the next few days.
