Strat-O-Matic To Collaborate With Marquee Sports Network To Expand Its Content Creation Role

Strat-O-Matic (www.strat-o-matic.com), the market leader in sports simulations, today announced it will assist Marquee Sports Network, the broadcast home of the Chicago Cubs, in creating content for a series of Cubs-specific shows for 2020. The shows will use the data and simulations from iconic Cubs games of the past to re-imagine what an alternate result would have been, and Strat-O-Matic will also contribute to other projects designed to engage fans interest and debate.

“We continue to find new ways to expand our scope of opportunity using the data we have collected throughout our history in unique ways and with new partners, and this project with Marquee Sports Network is one of the latest examples,” said Strat-O-Matic President Adam Richman. “There are no more passionate fans in sports than Cubs fans, and we look forward to helping give them some new and unique looks at the history of the club through this partnership.”

“We are looking forward to bringing these two iconic names in sports—the Chicago Cubs and Strat-O-Matic—together to have some fun reinventing history with these simulations,” Marquee Sports Network General Manager Mike McCarthy said. “Sports is filled with ‘what if’s, and now we will be able to present to our audience some of the potential answers to those questions.”

The first in a series of content in the partnership will be the Ultimate Cubs Lineup. Marquee had 18 players, broadcasters, analysts and fans create the best lineup they could from throughout Cubs history to win one game: eight hitters, a starting pitcher, one reliever, and one bench player. Rick Sutcliffe, Doug Glanville, Carlos Peña, Mark DeRosa, Len Kasper, Jim Deshaies and others all chose a lineup and Marquee Sports Network will play out the tournament to crown the Ultimate Cubs Lineup champion. Additional content using Strat-O-Matic data will be announced in the coming weeks.

The content with Marquee Sports Network has been in development for some time, and the collaboration is the latest in a string of unprecedented success on the business side for Strat-O-Matic, which has also included record sales, new member signups, and being selected by People.com as “Best Sports Board Game for Sports Lovers.” The Company has also expanded its content creation business, and its simulations of the 2020 MLB season and the 2020 NBA Playoffs have gotten wide coverage and support.
