Jason Kendall‘s run-scoring single in the top of the 10th inning off Brian Harvey plated Travis Shaw with the go-ahead run, giving the team of Sons a 5-4 victory over a squad of Fathers in the seventh game of Strat-O-Matic’s special Father’s Day series featuring an assortment of the best dads and sons ever to play baseball. Game 7 was played on Father’s Day following a standard World Series scheduling format for the previous six games.
The Sons side rallied from a three games to one deficit, earning the win in the decisive contest which was started by Jaret (Sons) and Clyde (Fathers) Wright. Nen pitched a 1-2-3 tenth inning to get the win after blowing the save.
The teams were represented by 30 father-son combinations. Every player on the roster was used at least once during the seven games.
