Alex Rodriguez‘s 3000th hit, stroked against the Tigers in 2015, and Derek Jeter‘s famous “flip” in the 2001 ALDS vs. Oakland are among the highlight games featured in the next week of classic radio broadcasts on SiriusXM Radio.
Tonight at 7 p.m. ET, it’s the milestone hit by Rodriguez, this date five years ago, called by John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman kicking off the MLB Network Radio (Sirius ch. 209, XM ch. 89) upcoming slate. One of Jeter’s highlight plays in a career full of them closes out the next eight days, June 26 at 7 p.m. ET, with Michael Kay, Sterling, Thom Brennaman and Steve Lyons on the calls.
Also of note to N.Y. fans is Monday’s doubleheader celebrating Giant Carl Hubbell‘s birthday, with broadcasts of the 1934 All-Star Game, in which he famously fanned five straight Hall of Famers, and the 1940 Midsummer Classic, in which he came in to notch the save. The twin bill begins at 7 p.m. ET.
