It was an incredible season for Mets fans, and this offseason is going to be one for the ages. There is no better way to get ready for it than the Queens Baseball Convention, which takes place on Saturday, Dec. 7, at Four Points by Sheraton, located at 33-68 Farrington Street in Flushing (near Main Street) from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
This year features appearances by 1986 World Series MVP Ray Knight, all-star Gregg Jefferies, fan-favorite RP Turk Wendell, and the headliner, all-star SS Jose Reyes!
Also appearing at the event will be the SNY’s Baseball Night in NY crew, and there will be autograph signings, lots of great baseball vendors, as well as food and drinks for all.
Started by Mets fans Keith Blacknick (TheMediagoon.com) and Dan Twohig (MetsPolice.com) in 2013, the QBC is a Mets Fans Fest, created by the fans for the fans! It’s a great event for the whole family, and if you have never been to a QBC, this is a great year to start!
Once again, I’ll be hosting the “State Of The Mets” panel. I’m proud to be the longest-tenured host at the QBC and grateful that Keith and Dan have made me a part of the event since the beginning.
This year’s panel has some new faces and some old friends returning:
Kelley Franco
Kelley Franco is making her QBC debut. She is a baseball media entrepreneur, and her company is Three Inning Fan LLC. She hosts her own baseball show, Three Inning Fan – The Podcast with Kelley Franco. She also delivers lively speaking engagements on the past and present of baseball. Follow her on X and Instagram at @threeinningfan for her baseball insights and to catch her “Three Inning Minute” videos, which feature snippets about the legal, transactional, and nostalgic side of the game in one minute each. Kelley has been a guest lecturer at the Baseball Hall of Fame and a baseball contributor on CNN’s Financial Network. By day, Kelley is a practicing attorney in New Canaan, Connecticut, at her firm, Franco and Associates.
Anthony Rivera
Anthony Rivera is a rising star in the Mets content creator space. He is a lifelong, diehard fan of the team from Queens. Anthony hosts and produces the Subway To Shea Podcast, a show by a Mets fan for the Mets fans. He also writes for Rising Apple, a Mets site on the FanSided Network. He has been a regular guest on SNY and is making his second appearance at the QBC.
Joe DeMayo
Joe DeMayo is no stranger to the QBC and returns to the State of The Mets panel this year. One of the reasons we love having him is his comprehensive coverage of the Mets, their minor league system, and the MLB Draft for SNY. Joe is also the co-host of The Mets Pod.
Matt Ibanez
Matt Ibanez makes his State of the Mets panel debut, but he’s no stranger to the QBC. A teacher by profession and a diehard Mets fan by choice, his passion for the Mets led to becoming the co-host of a podcast/YouTube show entitled “Til Mets Do Us Part” – your weekly Mets-driven therapy session all year long!
