Baseball Digest: The “Voice Of God” Has Gone Silent

Anyone who attended or participated in a New York Yankees game between 1951 and 2007 came away with one particular lasting impression.  It had nothing to do with the game itself or any of the players or fans or the concessions.  It had nothing to do with the grand cathedral itself.  The one constant that everyone remembered was the powerful, eloquent, and commanding presence that was Bob Sheppard.
